Near to Trout River are other beautiful towns of Gros Morne National Park such as Woody Point, Norris Point and Rocky Harbour, all of which are situated along the impressive Bonne Bay. You should go around visiting all these towns when you are at Gros Morne National Park. More information and photographs are at my VT Woody Point page which will be updated soon.
Just like many of the seaside towns of the maritime provinces of Canada, the main livelihood of the residents of Trout River is fishing in the rich water of the Gulf of St Lawrence. When you are here, you will see the typical scene of fishing boats, lobster traps, warehouses etc. Very beautiful scenes indeed.
I was told that the residents of Trout River are very friendly and will ask you to visit their house to have tea and chit-chat. However I did not have enough time or else I would have visited their houses.
