This is an incredible 8 mile race that takes you from the town of Louisbourg through the Fortress of Louisbourg at dusk. We have all done this run at least once. This is a beautiful run!
Equipment: Running shoes.

Hiking is a great way to stay in shape while traveling and lets you see things not accessible by car too. L' Arcadien is nice six mile loop hike that brings you up 1500 feet into the highlands of Cape Breton and overs panoramic views of the coastline and the city of Cheticamp. It takes two to four hours. If you are camping at Cheticamp campground, there is a trailhead right at the back end of it. Inquire at the Visitor Center for more details.
Equipment: Good boots as the trail is steep and rugged in some sections. Rain gear is normally a good idea but it was SOOO nice that day, we opted to travel light.
