Cape Sable Island has been designated as "an Important Bird Area" and its the place to go if you enjoy this past-time. The beaches here will allow for great shore bird sightings and at peak times they have over 300 species to be seen. Check out the IBA center at where else "The Hawk" Beach at the southren most tip of the Island.

The location of the cottages offer a perfect place to kayak or canoe- there's a sheltered cove on one side and more open ocean on the other. Its really great with several small islands that you can paddle out to and explore.
