Surrounding the Bay of Fundy on both its Nova Scotia and New Brunswick shores are numerous red sandstone cliffs. These soft rocks have been worn away over the ages by the constant pounding of the tides, resulting in many sheer cliffs as shown here. Of course, when the tide is out, the mud-flats offer a great chance to head out to dig for clams! Just be careful to check your path of retreat - the tide can quickly become a problem on this flat beach landscape!

This area of Nova Scotia presents some great views of interesting landscapes. This photo shows the Five Islands as seen from coastal Highway 2, with the tide nearly at its lowest ebb. The road travels through an interesting mix of farms, blueberry fields and views of ocean beaches. There are also a few islolated holiday get-away spots along the coast here if you really want to wind down!
