    Fisherman's Cove

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Fisherman's Cove, in Eastern Passage, Dartmouth, was a fishing village and has recently been developed with a boardwalk and shops. There is a large restaurant, Boondocks though i find it a bit expensive and there are a line of small "shacks" housing craft shops, a gallery and a cafe along one side. There is a long boardwalk as well that goes out to the harbour and there are a couple of small beaches as well. Good views and a great place for a walk on a sunny day. See the website for descriptions of all the great little shops.

Directions on how to get there on the website. Also the number 60 bus from the Dartmouth Sportsplex terminal or from Alderney Gate, (the street above the ferry terminal) or from the Woodside Ferry terminal parking lot (ferry runs rush hours only). The website has good directions on the connections to get to Dartmouth.

Alternatively drive up Pleasant Street and just keep going past the oil refinery and CFB Shearwater. There is a sharp bend in the road and you turn right at that point.

Make sure to take the drive south from Dartmouth (which is across the harbor from Halifax). You will find a small litlle marina type place. Check it out. It's really nice! They also have a long boardwalk there if you're interested in going for a stroll. The area is known as Fisherman's Cove
