Across the harbour from Halifax, in Dartmouth is one of the oldest residential houses in the area. The man who built it was a cooper and a Quaker. The house was originally built in 1785 and has been restored to that era. It's only open June, July and August.
Easiest way to get there is go to Dartmouth on the ferry and walk up a couple of blocks on Octerloney Street which is off Alderney drive (the ferry arrives in a complex called Alderney Gate)
