Light or something with wheels . There's a walk for the arrivals at the airport.
The downtown area can be covered by foot so bring comfortable shoes.
We have it all.. Drugstores are open every day.
Lots!! Great photo opportunities!! We have gorgeous scenic coastlines ....huge cliffs and rolling beaches. If you come in October you'll be treated to fabulous fall color...
There are wonderful nature trails all around Nova Scotia . Don't forget your hiking boots and camp gear.
Remember to pack rain gear and a warm sweater...especially in the spring . We usually have lots of rain in the spring .

If you are going hiking/camping you will probably want a waterproof bag.
You will probably want a rain jacket. at some point. Somtimes if it's really windy, your umbrella will flip inside out so if you are going to bring an umbrella, bring a wind-resistant one. Bring hiking shoes or sneakers with a good grip if you plan on going on day trips to Peggy's cove.
There are drugs stores everywhere... even a 24 hour one right on Spring Garden so don't worry about this stuff.
There is a photo shop right on Spring Garden too so if you run out of film, it's convenient to get.
There are a lot of great beaches and camping places in Nova Scotia. There is a Mountain Equipment Co-Op store really close to Spring Garden Road (1550 Granville Street... (902) 421-2667 (800) 663-2667 (toll-free) so if you need any other equipment, you can pick it up here.
The weather changes a lot... it may be cold and foggy early in the morning and then change to hot and sunny during the day. It's a good idea to bring a hooded sweater no matter what time of the year in case you get chilly. Leave a Comment

by seamandrew Make sure to bring a wind jacket with you and an umbrella wouldn't hurt just in case.
Bring a camera with you. This is an absolute must. The countryside in Nova Scotia is stunning! You'll want to have a camera with you if you go whale watching! Leave a Comment

Be prepared for bad rain or snow, depending on your travel dates. This area gets the leftovers of most of the storm systems that hit the NE of the US. Leave a Comment

Do bring either a sweater or a jacket, even during the summertime. The wind is chilly even when the sun is hot. Leave a Comment

Always have available rain gear, rubber boots (great for running on the beach when it is cold) and sweater if visiting in the spring, summer and fall. Leave a Comment

by sirpantsalot Take some sturdy shoes or footwear. Most of Halifax is on a hill. Also there are a lot of cobblestone street down by the water. Leave your high heels and birkenstocks at home. Also the winters are cold and damp with more rain than snow.A favourite saying in Nova Scotia is 'If you don't like the weather wait a minute, it's bound to change.' The maritime location means summer temperatures range from daytime highs of 20 - 25 C (68 - 77 F) to evening lows of 10 - 14 C (50 - 57 F). Invigorating sea breezes near the coast are often best enjoyed with a sweater on or at hand. Inland, the air may be 5-10 degrees warmer, and the lakes, rivers, woodlands, and farms are pleasantly warm. Temperatures in spring and fall average about 10 degrees cooler.
A cure for a hangover. Leave a Comment
