The Granite Brewery at first strikes you as being somewhat run-down, a place old legionnaires might hang out. But luckily, with every pint of their own brand of beer, the atmposphere becomes cozier and cozier.
I'm still working on this tip.
This was one of the more disappointing parts of our visit to Halifax. I could handle that the Citadel was not completely open but the premier brewpub in town was closed for renovations! Luckily, they had another location down the far end of the street. :) Also, there is a little music club above the Granite Brewery called Ginger's Tavern and they serve all the brewery's beers including all three of their cask offerings. It's a quiet little place early evening but sure it gets pretty happening later at night. Well, when there's not a hurricane going on, that is. ;)
Favorite Dish: The menu looked pretty eclectic and if the food is anywhere near as good as the beer, I would definitely eat there next time.
An English style brewpub with a great, cosy atmosphere. Serve British and Irish beers and beer brewed inhouse.
