La Cave: Deserts!!!!Definately Deserts

La Cave is a wonderful small "cafe" style restaurant in the basement of a building. The ambiance is incredible: each section of the restaurant devided into their own "private " rooms for a maximum of intimacy. The staff is great, deserts and coffee remarkable, but unfortunately, entrees are not what they could be. This is definately a great place for late night deserts... as long as you keep it at that. They have the widest selection of cheesecakes in Halifax.

Favorite Dish: Favorite dish is their Belgian Chocolat Pate. This definately the chocolat lovers feast and the true definition of chocolat as an afrodisiac. The first bite will knock you off your feet as it slowly melts on your palet... I get shivers simply by thinking about it

La Cave: Closed, but Cheesecake still available

I've read all the good reviews of La Cave's cheesecake, but it has sadly closed down. There is a new restaurant in it's place, so you can still get the atmosphere. I haven't been here yet, so I can't comment.
For those who only want the cheesecake, they are being sold from the Cheesecake Gallery in Mahone Bay. Happy munching!

This French restaurant has the greatest selection of cheesecake in town, about a dozen if I remember correctly. It's simply irresistible!

However, last time I went, on July 25 2005, there was a note outside that read this: "Owner skipped town with 3 weeks pay from all employees". And it was closed. So I wonder what is going on...

Favorite Dish: Any cheesecake. I only went for desert, but I assume the cuisine must be as great.

This place has a unique atmosphere that can be very romatic.

You go down into the restaurant which is compatmentalized into private dining areas where you have your own little cave.

Favorite Dish: This place is well known for its decadent cheesecake.

La Cave is a very unique little restaurant. When you walk in La Cave it is almost like you are walking in an old dungeon, or barracks. As Corny as it sounds, it is a real nice place. Almost every table has there own little room which provides great privacy. Something different compared to an everyday restaurant. It is a marvellous place for dessert.

Favorite Dish: Black forest Cheesecake

If you wanna wine, dine and sixety-nine a chick then this is the place to take her. La Cave has secluded tables which are isolated within caves throughout the restaurant. You almost have enough privacy to hit all three birds with one stone, that is wine her, dine her and sixety nine her, all in a one hour sitting. Although i would suggest that you keep one ear open for the server. I once was playing footsies with my x-girlfriend when the waitress snuck up on us and specated the event for a full 5 minutes before she joined in on the action and started nibbling my ear lobe... haha jokes... if you're into random girls nibbling your ear lobe then take a quick walk down the street to "The Dome."
I would suggest you dine in for dessert, they have the best cheese cake in town, I don't think i'll ever eat a full meal at this restaurant again until money grows on trees but If you do have some cash then be prepared to drop atleast a bill on this meal.

Favorite Dish: Cheesecake - it taste good and it's the cheapest item on the menu

The owner carved this neat little restaurant out of the basement of an old building. It is the small, tight, dark 'caves' that makes this very interesting. Great if you want an intimate atmosphere to talk. The food is alright. The desserts, coffee, combined with the ambiance is where this place is good.

Favorite Dish: Desserts, in particular cheesecake (if you like that sort of thing)
