The Lower Deck is a Tap Room, Beer Market, Pub and Eatery situated in the Privateer's Warehouse of the Halifax Historic Properties at the waterfront.
Open daily 11:30AM-1AM.
Live music in the weekends.
A rollocking pub in the Historic Properties on the waterfront. The Lower deck has the feel of an old fashioned watering hole, with long tables and benches in the main room, a low ceiling and stone floors. There are regular wooden tables in the back room and a small number of booths. Good Irish and sea shanty type music on the weekends pack the place out. Food isn't too bad at all. Large outdoor patio in summer with outdoor music during special events. Great place to people watch along the boardwalks.
We only stopped a couple of times at The Lower Deck during the day for a beer and a snack. This is a great spot right on the Waterfront beside the historic properties. On our two visits we sat round at the side which is a little quieter but right in the afternoon sun.
Prices were pretty good considering it's prime location. We just had a few small dishes to share but everything was really good. Service was quick and friendly.
Favorite Dish: Unfortunately we didn't have the chance to get back in the evening for a proper meal and to enjoy one of the live bands. Maybe next time.
Worth a visit.
