A block from Spring Garden Road and the Library is a cross roads knows locally as "Pizza corner". There was three pizza take out places reside on the corners of this area, with the fourth taken by a church. There is now only two but it's still a popular spot just the same with a bar over the top of one of them. These places are buzzing late at night after the bars let out and at lunch time you can get a slice and go sit in the sun on the wall around the library and church.
Favorite Dish: Pizza, Donairs, Sub sandwiches
The "pizza corner" is located at the intersection of Blowers and Grafton Streets. It got its name because there are inexpensive pizza places on three of the four corners.
It is also the perfect spot to try out a donair, a local "delicacy" that is similar to a gyro, only with beef instead of lamb and with a spicier taste.
Favorite Dish: I just had to try the donair, but Mélanie found them sloppy and stuck with the pizza. Both were cheap and fuelled us for the rest of the night.
Since neither of us is a big junk-food eater, we only ate at the pizza corner once, but we definitely recommend it for anyone who has the munchies. The best part is, the places are open well into the night.
Everyone goes here after a night of drinking at pubs and clubs. Once all of the bars close down, everyone heads here.
Favorite Dish: Donair pizza is definitly a local taste... I don't think you can get this anywhere else in the world.
King of Donair is the best place to go.
