Another pearl in downtown Halifax. The restaurant, formerly known as Soho Kitchen has moved from the hidden location at the end of Granville street to next doors to the Economy Shoe shop at Argyle Street. It's now called SOHO Bar + Grill. A visit is worth while. Great atmosphere with wooden tables and church seats. Excellent food and at Tuesday and Thursday nights live Jazz music. This could be your second home.
2008 Update: A sad sign at the Soho Bar & Grill (1667 Argyle) tells us that after a "warm & cozy 23 years," the venue has closed up shop. Soon to take its place is the intriguingly named Foggy Goggle.
Favorite Dish:
Nachos and chicken.
Myself and my 5 friends had a horrible experience at the Soho Kitchen. There was a lack of space, service and friendly atmosphere. I had made reservations and called back a couple hours later to push the reservations ahead and they said our reservations were cancelled because they were not taking reservations. Needless to say we had no place to sit once we got there, the staff completely ignored us, and had not welcomed us upon arrival. Furthermore, over the phone they indicated the kitchen would be open till 12am, we arrived at 11pm for late night appetizers and they had closed the kitchen down. There was a complete lack of organization and I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to have a good time.
