    Peak tourist season

If you intend to visit Lunenburg during the peak tourist months of July to September, I suggest that you book your accomodation and transport way in advance because Lunenburg is very popular and full of tourists during these months. If you want to avoid tourists, you can come in early spring or late autumn season, but the weather will be colder and some of the attractions will be closed.

Like in Halifax films are shot in Lunenburg too. The smaller streets and lower wooden houses are a great setting if images from yesteryears has to be created.

I never realized Lunenburg was used as a film set until somebody send me an email asking:

A three day search using Street View ended here at Lunenburg. The particular seen was shot at the corner of Duke Street and Lincoln Street looking East.

Some major movies that were shot at Lunenburg are Moby Dick, Simon Birch and Jumping the Broom. Also the TV-series Haven was shot here.
