Spend 50cd or more in any one shop to get the tax back. Keep hotel receipts and shop receipts and take to Canadian customs (take your luggage - don't check it in first) at the airport. They will send you a cheque Leave a Comment Theme: Department Store

The small shop in the little village of Inverness has a working loom where they weave tartan and other fine cloth. Great local gifts - music - books and much more. The owner greeted us in Gaelic and told us about the free gaelic lessons she offers here.
Mayflower candles and Maple syrup candies = two of my favourite things.

This supermarket chain is a common name in the Province called Sobey's. You can buy almost anything here apart from liquor. This is sold only in liquor stores. This seemed strange to me, supermarkets in the U.K. sell a huge range of liquor, but this way makes sense really as this practise cuts down on underage people buying drink. Whenever we were planning a day trip we stopped by Sobey's, they do a good range in soft drinks & ready prepared items like sandwiches and pieces of cake, so your packed lunch can be made simple and quick.
Buy coolers and your packed lunch for the day's travels - don't bother with ice - buy some ice lollies to cool your lunch and you!

A cute little antique shop located right acrossed the road from Fort Anne. The clerk was so friendly we stayed and chatted for a good 15 minutes! Very personable, one of the bright spots in our trip. The people you meet make the best memories! The towns of Kentville and New Minas are the main shopping areas of the Annapolis Valley. There are a couple of malls (smaller than the ones in Halifax) and lots of great craft shops, antique stores and some lovely tea rooms and restaurants along the old Highway 1. Come off the highway 101 at Wolfville at exit 10 and turn left, following Highway 1 through Wolfville, New Minas and Kentville, stopping where you fancy exploring.

by easterntrekker Whether you are looking for fresh Valley produce, a gift, or something to satisfy your sweet tooth, you are sure to find what you are looking for at Hennigar’s Farm Market. It is alandmark and dates back over 50 years. If you decide to take a drive to Annapolis valley this is an interesting stop. They have lots of "made in Nova Scotia " things. Fresh bread and cakes, home made fudge, maple syrup, great ice creams and tons of valley produce. Theme: GiftsPhone: (902)542-3503Directions: 10272 Highway #1 Wolfville, Nova Scotia B4P2R2

A windy day in Lunenburg! by RWFAN This is a cute little shop in Lunenburg. The lady who owns and operates this store makes the soaps and various other bath products available here. What makes this shop so special and a must see while in Lunenburg is that above the door is a bubble machine that, as long as it isn't raining, blows bubbles through the town. Particularily pretty on a windy day! *** I will add more info soon! I have to find the address etc.*** Leave a Comment Theme: Bath and Beauty

by tvor Northern Sun is located at the junction of Highway 3 where it comes into the center of Mahone Bay. There's a small parking lot behind it for their customers. They carry jewelery that's very unique and also lots of other various types of gifts, from wooden, to ceramic to pottery, prints and artwork. The staff is very accomodating and helpful and the prices are a lot more reasonable than i expected.
Jewelery that's very different. Wood items, pottery, paper, they even had some very unique shoes and matching handbags. They had some beautiful glass perfume bottles and some wooden jewelery boxes with art deco (Rennie MacIntosh) covers on them.
various prices but certainly reasonable. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: 8 Edgewater Street, Mahone BayPhone: (902) 531-3000Directions: The intersection where Highway 3 meets the main street of Mahone Bay.
