Rogart Mountain Trail

by GentleSpirit

I went on this trail with a few others coming from Halifax. A nice drive took us to the Wentworth Valley, a nice off-the beaten track area in Nova Scotia. The hike was nice. There were like 5 of us in the group, all of different ages and physical fitness levels, but nobody seemed to have too much trouble. The loop is 6.2 long and starts at the Sugar Moon Farm. The trail was well marked and had like 17 stops on it, interpretive stops they were called, pointing out something special or out of the ordinary. There was a deep forest, old stone walls built by the early settlers, 3 brooks, some good views and waterfalls. Ryan (our guide) was crazed about waterfalls. It says that the trail had steep climbs, but the difficulty was only moderate really. Make sure to stop at the Farm House before you leave, they make some incredible preserves.Very enjoyableFrom Halifax-- Route 102, Onslow exit 14A...
