After surfing the net and consulting "Doers & Dreamers Guide available from www.novascotia.com (Good Guide/Good site)We booked 2 nights in Antigonish and 2 in Port Hawkesbury...........bad move............the hotels we stayed in are part of the Maritime Inns Group but do not hold a candle to the others in Pictou & Baddeck far nicer places to stay...........travel the extra mile....miss out 2 nothing towns with nothing to offer!
Get in the car and go on the Ceiidh TrailVisit Inverness.Go and see Antigonish University only thing worth doing.
Go to Baddeck or Ingonish or indeed both

Most tourists to Nova Scotia end up at Peggy's Cove, to see both the lighthouse and the tiny fishing village among the rocks. But there are many, many other beautiful lighthouses and landscapes in the province. If you are staying in the Halifax area and have the option, go for a coastal drive around the Aspotogan Peninsula, or to Sambro, or along the Eastern Shore to Fisherman's Cove (just ask a local, there are tonnes of choices) and witness the less tourist-y areas on your own. Sometimes the buses and crowds at Peggy's Cove make it seem more like an amusement park than a working fishing village.
