As is many places in Nova Scotia local roads can be steep and your car will speed up beyond cruise velocity setting. Local roads have also sudden sharp bends, hidden driveways, limited crest views and rain puddles. Reasons enough to drive with pace and pay attention to the signs.

Favorite thing: Howard Dill grew the world biggest pumpkin, a 1385lbs one called the "Dill's Atlantic Giant".
Howard patented both his "DILL'S ATLANTIC GIANT" and "ATLANTIC GIANT" varieties.
To see giant pumpkins visit Howard's farm in late September through early October.

Howard Hill died at age 73 on May 20, 2008.

Favorite thing: At King Street you'll find the local park with a monument in remembrance of WW1.
Furthermore there's a bandstand (not the only one in the village).
