How often do you get to eat in a lighthouse. There is a lovely little tearoom at the Cape Forchu lighthouse. They serve soup, sandwiches, desserts, and tea and coffee for a reasonable price.
Favorite Dish: The fish chowder was excellent. Halibut, potatoes and onions in a light broth. It was served with an egg salad sandwich which was delicious.

The Quick & Tasty is almost a Yarmouth icon. It has been here for nearly 40 years. Originally it was called Harris' Quick and Tasty, and run by a husband/wife team. It now has a new owner, but the food is being made with the original recipes, and that's good. Charlie Harris was a fisherman originally, and he really knew his seafood. His wife, Clara, must have been some cook, cause the seafood here is tops! It is a bit expensive for a diner, but you need to remember, seafood is expensive, and if you want it done right, well, you get what you pay for.
Favorite Dish: Anything with seafood. The chowder is the best in town. The fried clams are really great. If you have a good appetite, try the seafood platter, it gives you a little taste of everything.

Excellent food, generous portions, great selection, very reasonable prices. All this and you can add a great staff, a quiet and pleasant atmosphere for a relaxing evening. Everything is made fresh, so you do wait, but the music is nice, not too loud, so you can sit back relax with a coffee, glass of wine, etc. chat a bit, relax a bit, and then be ready for a treat!!!
Favorite Dish: Hard to choose. They really do good with seafood, but then their chicken dishes are good as well. To choose one thing, however, I guess it would be:
Mushroom & Radish salad to start
Coquilles St. Jacques, with their twice-baked potato
and finish with their cheese crepe with strawberry sauce.
Problem is, I can never eat all of this. they are a little too generous for my appetite.
Fortunately, I live close, so some days I go for the salad, other days I go for the meal, and some days I just go for dessert!
