Campbell's travels mainly the "South Shore" (Highway 103, through Shelburne, Lunenburg) between Yarmouh and Halifax. They make every reasonable effort to pick you up at your location, and deliver you to your destination. Shuttles leave Yarmouth at 8:00am on weekdays and 8:30am on weekends. The return leaves Halifax at 4:30 pm and arrives back in Yarmouth at approx. 8:00 pm.
Fares are $55 oneway, $105 return, and $5.00 extra for bikes.
Reservations are required, so call early. Be sure to make arrangements for young children, as safety/booster seats are the law here. Up to Age 9, 4'6" and 90 lbs.
I strongly suggest making arrangements early, as peak travel times can restrict seat availability. Be sure to give detailed information about any special needs, (canes, walkers, pets, kits, bicycles, etc)
The phone is manned, so you will speak with a person, and if they are busy, you will hear back promptly.

Cloud Nine operates on the "North Shore" (Highway 101 by Annapolis, Kentville) and the "South Shore" (Highway 103 by Shelburne and Lunenburg) and points on route.
If at all possible they pick you up at your door in or near Yarmouth by 8 am. Alternatively, you meet them at MacDonald's for an 8:00 am departure. Return from Halifax starts at approximately 3:00 pm.
In 2006 they started meeting the CAT ferry arriving from Bar Harbor in Yarmouth at noon, reaching Halifax about 4 pm, returning from Halifax/Dartmouth between 5 and 6 pm.
Fares are $60.00 one-way, and $65 for delivery to Airport.

I don't know if they handle bicycles.
The owner/operator is also a driver, so you leave a message and he will call you back from the road. (from one of his stops)

There are very few car rental agencies available in the area. I found that Enterprise had the best prices (Avis was nearly twice as much!). However, they do not have a large fleet of cars, so make your reservation as soon as you know when you'll be in NS. They will go to another Enterprise office to find you a car, if they don't have one available. The staff is friendly and they will pick you up pretty much anywhere in the Yarmouth area. They were willing to do a pickup at the ferry terminal, but if you're coming in on a late ferry, the Enterprise office closes at 6PM. They did however, drive 10 miles (16km) to do a pickup at the hotel.

Be prepared. Gas is expensive. At the time it was averaging $1.16/liter CAD. This translated to roughly $4.25/gallon!

A bit of a somewhat gruesome warning: Along the highways you will find fairly consistently porcupines, victims of cars. However, these porcupines are huge and are left in the road. Be on the lookout as they can pose a hazardous obstacle for you.
