Sometimes it's great to do just nothing. There is wonderful hiking and canoeing in the park, but to just sit and take in the beauty of this wonderful park is the greatest.

crazygal59 Says:  This is a very nice clean motel. They have their own dining room and the food is quite good. You can have a room which faces Oxtongue Lake and has a screened in porch for sitting out in the evening. Use of the canoes is included in the price.

Interesting drive.

The drive to Algonquin is terrific. The highway has been blasted out of the rock and the scenery is great. It's about a 4 hour drive from Toronto.

Large moose having his dinner.

When in remote areas of the park, stay in a group of 2 or more. There are plenty of Black Bears and you never know if they are shy or not. also make sure you use great caution while driving at dusk or dawn. There are some very large animals in the park that wander over the highway, and they are capable of causing lots of damage to your car or you.
