a lucky mistake?

Sometimes you make a mistake that costs you, other times you make out on the deal. One day on the trip I rushed in changing my film to get the best light. I inadvertently put in a roll of 800ASA film rather than the planned ASA200. I realized it right away but it was too late to change it. So, I tried to use as much of the film up as I could in good situations. It was super sunny out so I knew taking shots of the lake would be washed out and grainy so I took lots of stuff in the forest like this spider's web and zoom shots like of the frog. But later that night, I got a real bonus. There was the most fiery sunset I had ever seen and the film helped me capture it all the better. :)

say hello to my little friend

Ok, we did not see one bear on our trip nor even a moose this time out though I had seen one on a previous canoe trip BUT there was no shortage of wildlife, form birds to spiders to this little guy here.

There is nothing quite like paddling when the water is glass-like and it makes for great photographic opportunities too. I figured Sandy might enjoy this one. ;)

Wildlife photography is a great activity in Algonquin and it is made even more challenging and fun with the reflective waters as a foreground.

close the hatch when you are done, please

The campsites all have pit toilets but you have to look around to find them. They are generally far off to the back of the site which makes for some spooky night time toilet runs....lol. Oh my...

This is where you'll pee. Its in far better condition than the toilet in my bathroom when I was a student. Do not wipe your ass with poison ivy.
