Make it at least for 2 nights

    by GTS77 Updated Jan 10, 2006

Favorite thing: If you enjoy camping but are either new to this activity or are hesitant to spent few nights in the wildiness, I highly recommend to stay minimum of 2 nights. I happen to come here for 1 night but wasn't as enjoyable as it should. Just setting the camping gear and cooking the meals takes most of the afternoon. Takes another afternoon to pack.

Let me remind you this is rather laborious because I travel with young kids so this may not be the same as a single or a couple.

Most Ontario campgrounds allow check-in after 2pm and you must vacate before 1pm. That does not leave much time for exploring around.

Fondest memory: The night campfire was the family's most unforgettable experience, especially for my 2 kids.

Favorite thing: Sheer Bon Echo Rock rises 100 metres out of deep Mazinaw Lake for 1.5 kilometres at this park north of Kaladar. The Algonkians painted 260 red-ochre pictographs on it. The way to explore the park is by canoe!
