Sip 'n Dine: Most Excellent Indian Food
This restaurant used to be called the Clay Oven. Truly, the name Sip 'n Dine does it no justice whatsoever. Although the interior is a little dark, the food is excellent. The service is attentive and very friendly. We brought our 2 yr old with us and the waiter was extra considerate to his needs, offering warmed milk as a treat and bringing smiles to our son's face regularly. This is in spite of the general more dressy than casual atmosphere, we weren't made to feel that we were unwelcome with our toddler.
The dinner begins with crispy flatbread type appetizers (on the house) with dips. The naans (about $3 for all of us) are made in a clay oven in a glass room where you are welcome to take a look. It was quite neat seeing how the ovens (cylinders) cook the bread (stuck to the walls until perfection attained). We order the jeera rice (cheap- about $4 for all of us) along with perfectly done chicken curry ($11), paneer tika (homemade cheese- $9) and Palak Paneer (cheese w/ vegis, mmm $9). We end up spending about $60 , including 2 Indian beers and tip, for the 3 of us but are full by the end and have enough for lunch the next day. I recommend this surprisingly delectable restaurant.
Favorite Dish: The naan bread- fresh, soft and hot, just the way it should be. Also anything with that home made cheese in it. I don't know who else makes their own cheese, but they should!

Quan 99 Vietnamese Restaurant: Family Run, Freshly Prepared
Located in uptown Brantford, Quan 99 is a family run business for over two decades. A favourite of the locals, both meat-eaters and vegetarians can choose from an incredibly exotic menu.
Quan 99 is also a designated healthy-choice restaurant and family friendly. Prepared fresh and affordable, a couple can eat luxuriously for under $25.
Favorite Dish: I highly recommend the vegetable fried rice, spring rolls, and for a spicy treat - the mixed vegetables smothered in a coconut-pineapple-curry sauce ... ah-maz-ing
Admirls Submarine: DONT EAT HERE!!
This restaurant is only enjoyed by drunk people how are desperate for something to eat after the bars are closed. There is a good chance you will be sick if you eat here due to the health standards that are not meet. Each morning when they open there deep fryers are covered in potatoes bugs which they just sweep off. I would not recommend eating here if you are worried about your health and what you put into your mouth.
Angel's is a 50s theme restaurant. It opened up a little while ago and it's been quite successful. They only play 50s music inside and the waiters and waitresses are all dressed up in 50s clothes. They've made the whole interior feel like a diner right out of that time period.
Favorite Dish: It's been a while since I've been there so I don't remember the name of the dish that I always have. It had chicken, fries, and vegetables. It was really good. Also try their ice cream sundaes. They are the best.
There are 2 locations of this restaurant that I know of. The one in Brantford and the one I used to go to in Port Dover. That one was located right by the beach.
Callahan's also has a bar if you want to go there and you can sit outside when the weather's nice.
The prices are affordable. It's not exactly cheap but not overly expensive either. For the sports fans, they have several tvs located in the restaurant so you can watch while you eat.
Favorite Dish: Al Capone Chicken or
The chicken comes with pasta with your choice of Alfredo or marinara sauce. I always go with the marinara.
The fetuccini alfredo is absolutely delicious. What I especially like is that they don't give you a whole lot. Quite often restaurants give you a plate full of food and you can't eat it all. With this one, I eat everything and I still have room for dessert!!
To drink I recommend their stawberry pina colada.. I tried one a few weeks ago and I fell in love with it.
Yung Great Wall Buffet: Worst Chinese food in Brant County
Thought we would give this new Chinese restaurant a try. Bad Mistake. Restaurant decor is very nice. To bad they spent their money on the decor instead of teaching the cooks how to make chinese food. 2 of us went for supper, each of us only had a half plate each because of lack of selection and left within 10 minutes of arriving. We where willing to pay for what we ate, charge us for a plate each, but no, they charged us for the full buffet. Do yourself a favour and don't waste your money eating here. There's a lot better chinese food in town for less money.

Admiral's: Largest triple-pattied double-patty burger in town
Admiral's serves up the greasiest, biggest, juiciest hamburger platters I've ever had anywhere. I always make a point of stopping there for lunch when I'm back in Canada. It's an institution, the kind of restaurant that has its own folklore. While the rest of downtown Brantford has disintegrated around it, Admiral's has continued to thrive because no matter how much you order, they always give you more.
Favorite Dish: Start with the basic hamburger and work your way along the menu from there. Watch if you're ordering sides like french fries. The hamburger will already have french fries with it, so if you order more french fries, they'll give you so many the fries'll be spilling out all over your lap and you'll never finish them all.

Country Grill: Good Food, BIG Portions
Located just 15 minutes outside of Brantford, this place has great food and big portions. It is also very reasonable. Breakfast is a great deal and there are lineups on the weekends for it so be patient, it's worth the wait for sure! Also dinner time on the weekends is busy... the only bad part is, they are closed on stat holidays.
Favorite Dish: The Grill Burger Special!!! 3/4 pound hamburger with cheese and peamel bacon. This thing is huge... you definitely need a knife to cut this monster in half so you can shove it in your mouth.. comes with fries or salad, though you probably won't touch em!! Only $7.95 I think....
Jerusalem Cuisine: A Taste Delight Like No Other!
Nestled away in a little plaza on King George Road is one of Brantford's best kept secrets. Jerusalem Cuisine offers the areas best in ethnic cuisine at a reasonable price.
Although largely favoured as a take-home dining experience there are a few tables where you can sit to enjoy your meal. Their menu clearly outlines what is in each dish and they boast a healthy food experience including the use of only 100% Pure Virgin Olive Oil, cuisine low in cholesterol as well as vegetarian and low fat dishes.
You can also visit their booth at the Brantford Farmers Market for some take home treats.
Favorite Dish: Their specialty is the "Falafel" - three fried chickpea patties stuffed into a thick large pita bread with lettuce, tomatoes and a tahineh (sesame paste) sauce for only $4.
I also recommend the Arabian Style Salad $5, The Rolled Grape Leaves stuffed with rice, spices and olive oil for 75 cents each.
The Spinach Arabian Baked Pie is a must at only $3 and the Samosis $3, are always a favourite.
Be sure to take home the Feta Spread with Pita Crisps and choose a delightful desert, Manna from Heaven $2, or a large Baklava $2.
Gigi's Pizza & Maria's Pizza: Pizza Perfection
If you're trying to break-free of franchise-store brands, Gigi's Pizza in West Brant, and Maria's Pizza in West Brant, are our best locally owned and operated pizza experts.
Gigi's has been around for more than two decades, the only thing that sucks is that there is no dine-in tables, take-out only. And don't be fooled by their small sized location-there is always a steady stream of vehicles parked out front for pick-ups.
Maria's does have the option of dining in, just be sure not to confuse this place with Maria's Fish & Chips which is also in West Brant.
If going to Marias, be sure to stop in the Caribbean Grocery store in the same plaza, and follow it up with Dueys Ice Cream in the summer!
Favorite Dish: Marias is known of their pizza, and Gigis is also but they make terrific calzones!
Country Grill Family Restaurant: Cure Breakfast Growls!
When coming to Brantford or the area, EVERY local knows that there is a number one choice for breakfast - The Country Grill! Albeit located 15 minutes outside of town in the pretty town of Paris, it is well worth listening to your stomach growl for food.
With mega-hearty portions, cheap, clean, and a great warm atmosphere this restaurant is a must-do for breakfast!!
They also do up amazing lunches and dinners. Expect a crowd all day long on Sundays, and I strongly recommend reservations if they make them.
Favorite Dish: Monday To Friday Breakfast Special
Bacon · Ham Or Sausages
With 3 Eggs &
Home Fries & for just
$2.95!! (Prices may have changed)
