City cafe & Bakery: Awesome Bagels & More
This place is a local gem. People rave about the bagels of certain cities: Montreal, New York etc. The City Cafe and Bakery is up there in my opinion of amazing bagels. All the bread is made in a wood fire stove that sits in the middle of the open spaced kitchen and the cafe itself is inside a former gas station complete with the garage door that opens onto the patio. This place is a great deal with a funky atmosphere. The place is totally unique in that it runs on an honour system- you deposit your bill into a bus token/fare box. Calculators are supplied and the bakers will make change for you if you need it, but there are no cashiers, and no phone. Everything is tax included and the prices are very cheap. A fresh bagel with cream cheese is only $1.50, while a large brownie or pecan tart is $2. They also make amazing sandwhich melts, wood fired pizza, large loafs of sourdough bread, cinnamon bagel bread loafs, and cheese and roasted pepper bread. There is fair trade coffee and other drinks, and a beautiful dog friendly patio complete with water and biscuits for your four legged friends. The best part is that the cafe lies right across the street to Riverside Park so you can grab some lunch and then go for a nice long walk to work it off.
Favorite Dish: I always go for a bagel with cream cheese, a fair trade dark roast coffee and finish it with a brownie.
The Cambridge Restaurant: Greasy Spoon
When I first moved to Cambridge I admit it took me years to venture into this spot. It wasn't until an out of town friend of mine went there for lunch that I was brave enough to go in on my own. Every town needs it's local greasy spoon and the Cambridge Restaurant is ours. It is mostly popular for it's breakfasts which it does awesomely. On Sundays they get the after church crowd and there will be a line up waiting for a table. The place is totally outdated like all greasy spoons are but the breakfast and lunches are really good and waitresses are really nice. I've been there for dinner and ordered the specials and found that they seemed much better on paper then in real life. Stick to breakfast, lunch and fries.
Favorite Dish: Eggs over-easy, crispy bacon, brown toast and poutine instead of home fries. Made exactly the way I like it for $5.
Indulge: Ice Cream
Awesome little ice cream parlour that makes waffle cones right in front of you. The portions are huge so be prepared, and the flavors are yummy; peanut butter chocolate, tiger tail, mint chocolate, birthday cake and many more..
Warning: A regular scoop is actually two scoops of ice cream so you can mix two flavors. it is HUGE.
Favorite Dish: double scoop of mint chocolate and peanut butter chocolate

Williams Coffee Pub: A Fast Growing Chain
Calling this a coffee house is only partially right - there is far more than just coffee served here. They have hot food (like quiches, lasagna, soup, chilie), salads, and sandwiches/wraps, and some great desserts. If you have ordered a meal, they give you a number and they will deliver it to your table.
There are William's CoffeePubs in several cities.
Favorite Dish: I love love love their California mix salad! You can get it separate or as a side-salad. Nice mandarin orange segments and almonds in it and a sweet tangy dressing.
I've had their cheese/broccoli quiche and it is terrific. The combination also is served with lovely garlic bread... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
The capucchino is good too - the medium is pretty big.
oh yeah... and their keylime cheesecake. hmmmm you know, I've not had anything I didn't like.
The Coffee Peddler: Eco-Coffee
A cute little eco-coffee shop. Amazing fair trade coffee from Peru and Mexico. I recommend the dark roast.
Harvey's: Wonderful Burgers
The burgers at this chain are fantastic.
You have them how you like them, and with what you want
Try them, you will not be dissapointed
Fast Eddies: An interesting experience
Fast eddies is a place in a class of it's own.
They have cheap cheap burgers and the "Crazy Fries" (fries with chilli topping) are AWESOME
Favorite Dish: Crazy fries
Golden Kiwi Pub: Down under with flair
Casual fine dining, pub with live entertainment. The best of both worlds, in a unique setting.
Favorite Dish: Calamari is to die for, as is everything else on the menu.
