This shop sits in a plaza that is dead. it is situated next to a laundry mat and a computer repair shop. In truth to drive by you would never think to even look into the plaza other then to think it was dumpy looking. But this salon I have been going to for years and they are top notch in quality and pricing. They feature 4 large top of the line massaging pedicure chairs, and two acrylic nail desks, two salon hair chairs and a room in the back for facials and massage. They use new equipment on each client and give them a box so that each time they return they have their own tools. A mani/pedi combo is only $39 and the quality is amazing. They do a better job then some of the spas I have been to where the price is double.
What to buy: mani/pedi combo can't be beat.
What to pay: $39.
Healthy Pet isn't really one of those places you would think to go into just to shop- but it deserves an honourable mention for the awesome work that they do. This place is a small hole in the wall pet boutique that offers do it yourself dog bathing and very reasonable dog grooming ( $50 for a 120 pound dog with a bath, undercoat cut, nail trim and ear cleaning). They sell wholesome filler free pet foods that are made in Canada and never substitute. They are so invested in pet nutrition and holistic care that they will talk your ear off and even fill you up on free pet food samples just to educate pet owners.
They sell a variety of treats, food- dry and canned ( venision, rabbit, lamb), leashes, doggie outfits, cat towers and toys and holistic remedies.
What to buy: Melissa's Aloe- Pet; hot spot, allergies and flea remedy. This aloe lotion can be used both internally and externally to heal hot spots, ear infections and help reverse effects from allergies and contains garlic which is a natural flea remedy and protects against. This stuff works amazing!!
What to pay: $ 0.25-80 depending on what you are looking for.
I'm not sure I could ever give a chocolate/candy shop a bad review, especially the Reid Candy and Nut Shop in the quaint little city of Cambridge, Ontario!
From simple, delicious treats to complex gift baskets, this is a sure stop to shop! Diabetics will marvel at the large selection of healthier choice chocolates. Be sure to take home some candies, jelly beans, nuts, and fudge!
Monday to Wednesday 8:30am-5:30pm
Thursday & Friday 8:30am-7PM
While downtown, other noteworthy shops would include Utopia - a new age spiritual store a few blocks away.
What to buy: There is so much to choose from in this little shop. I'm partial to the smothered-in-chocolate smores $1.50/each.
What to pay: Average.
