Betty's Restaurant has been around for decades. It is a restaurant that is great to take just about anyone to because they'll likely find something they like on the menu. It is the kind of food that you used to get in small towns around Ontario, anyway. Probably the same basic food in any north american ma & pa restaurant. No pretence, just good home cooking.
I'd never been there before, but know of others that have been there. It was a good place to bring in a busload of international people, from a conference. They got an idea of what old fashioned Canadian cooking is like. We had a fixed menu, and the prices were excellent.
Favorite Dish: I had the fish & chips, which WERE good, with coleslaw (cabbage salad) and great lemon meringue pie. Those who had the roast chicken or roast beef also looked like they got a nice plate.
I will be back again.... it was good food and an excellent price.Related to:
