Elora General Store & Cafe: Cafe

by Tuque Updated Apr 4, 2011

    Elora General Store and Cafe

Great place for a light lunch. The chai latte is very nice. Nice view of the Grand River. Good location - amongst the arts and crafts shops on Mill Street. After lunch you can browse the gift shop (main floor) and the toys (second floor). In the summer you can eat out on the patio deck that overlooks the river.

Favorite Dish: Soup and salad with a chai latte.

Hmmmm, delicious Italian icecream! Of course not as good as in Italy itself, but still very good! They have a lots of flavours here, from strawberry to lemon, to... can't remember it all! Too many to think of. They offer 60 flavours of ice cream and frozen yoghurt, from fat free to decadent! Delicious!

The restaurant and outdoor café are centrally located at the entrance to the Elora Mews Shops courtyard, directly across the walking bridge over the Grand River, and half-way down Mill Street West to the Mill Inn’s lookout over the Tooth of Time and the Elora Gorge.

    They are open during the summer : 9 a.m. – 10 p.m. daily

  • Elora Mill Inn: For a Great Shot of the Inn...

by gmccracken Updated Jun 3, 2009

A great place to relax in the pub and sip a hot chocolate overlooking the falls in winter! For a great photo op of the Inn, cross the river and shoot at dusk. See attached photo.

Favorite Dish: Stuffed salmon was very well prepared and flavourful.

    Elora Mill: Fancy dining

by Tuque Updated Apr 4, 2011
    Elora Mill dining room

Upscale. The kind of restaurant that has a wine cellar and calls the food 'cuisine'.

We dine here for special occassions (anniversary, special birthday, graduation, etc.)

Fantastic setting in a converted stone mill next to the "Tooth of Time" waterfall on the Grand River.

Favorite Dish: Salad of Romaine Hearts
With double smoked Lardon, a creamy Caesar vinaigrette, Mill bread garlic croutons and Asiago cheese. Masterfully prepared at your table in our time-honoured manner.

    Chateaubriand for Two
Tenderloin of Alberta Beef, flamed and carved tableside with roasted mini potatoes, baby vegetables, sauce bordelaise and sauce béarnaise

    Desert Rose Cafe in Elora

Small, quaint, good food. Nice place for lunch. Nice place for a tea break. In the summer there's outside seating in the back patio. Reflects the arts and crafts feel of Elora.
