Walking outside the History Center, you enter a small "gorge" which has been spanned both by a modern highway bridge - AND by a long suspension bridge just for pedestrians and snowmobiles.
In the past, rivers were highways of commerce and communication; presently, they are "barriers" to be crossed by impressively engineered bridges. The French River History Center commemorates the role of the French River in the former phenomenon, while serving a good place to observe the latter.Related to:
