Bernie Bob's, at least that's what it was called or maybe it still is. That's the only bar I've been in London. It's on the main road.
It really depends on the type of person you are and what you like. Since that is really the only place I've been I can't say much about it.
Dress Code: The dress code is very casual, t-shirts and Jeans. There are some people that dress up a little but not very common though.

Yeah right! In Forest, there's one bar that may or may not be open in the evenings. I'm really not sure.
Forest has a lot of churches.
Dress Code: Forest is in cottage country so the dress around here is pretty casual whereever y0ou go.

This is a British style pub/bar/restaurant. I used to spend so much time here. A few New Year's Eves as well. They've got a dance floor if you feel like boogying. They also used to have pool table, been a couple of years since I was there so not sure if they still do. If you need to use the phone they've even got one of those red English phone boxes.
Dress Code: Dress neatly and cleanly, otherwise, anything goes.

This is one of the places to party in London. Extremely popular with university and college crowd. Okay, even after college it's still popular. I spent many an evening at this place with my friends drinking way too much. You can't help but make friends at this bar
Dress Code: Pretty much anything goes here.
