After our heart attack in a box we were looking for something sweet before hopping back in the car, a local pointed us to the Covent Garden Market, an indoor market place with a variety of different foods-fruits & veggies, meat, fish, baked goods, chocolates, ice cream and a number of places with prepared ethnic food. There is also a farmer's market on Thursday and Saturday from May-November but it was already wrapped up for the day by the time we got there.
Free parking with validation, see the attached website for details and more info on what shops are in the market
What to buy: I was specifically looking for butter tarts and I found one bakery that had them, they were a little disappointing as they had raisins in them. We also stopped and got some apple cinnamon burek and watched them prepare the phyllo dough to make into burek, it was impressive to watch him work the thin dough with such speed and ease.

On weekdays, Covent Garden Market is a building where many vendors have their stalls. In these stalls we found fresh pastries, organic foods, meat, cheese, tourist fair, and more.
On Thursday and Saturday mornings, a farmers' market is added. In September we saw garden fruit and vegetables, plants, etc. We read that the farmers' market runs from May until November.
Note the pastry in the fourth picture. We saw it made and then got to eat some. Really good!
