A Country Mile in Milton

This store has a really nice selection of folksy gifts and furniture. The first floor showcases all sorts of gifts and knickknacks while the basement is mostly oak furniture and decor items. Definitely worth a browse.

Sweets at LaRose Bakery

LaRose (which everyone calls "LaRosa" for some reason) is about the closest Milton's got to a gourmet shop. It carries all sorts of Italian specialities and supplies for entertaining, plus an extensive deli section and bakery. It also has a little cafe area where you can eat any of the treats you've bought.

I highly recommend the sweet treats from the bakery. They also sell some really great cheeses.

Nantyglo Wool Shop

This shop is the only serious store for knitters and needleworkers. They stock and extensive selection of yarns, patterns and equipment for knitting and a full range of needlepoint supplies.

The store's greeter is Chloe, an adorable little dog.

What Springridge is all
about

I'm not sure if I have the best location for this tip - it could well go in off the beaten path, but I'm here now!
Springridge Farm is just that - a farm, on a ridge, allowing city folks to enjoy a day out on a cash crop farm. As well, there are gifts to buy and I must say I was impressed by the prices there.
IThe kids will have fun with the petting zoo, with lots of chickens of all types, and goats.
You can pick your own fruit

There are all sorts of jams and jellies, and sauces, and marinades to be bought in the market, as well as fresh produce, grown and made on the property.
was able to buy a bag of fresh green peas, some jams, and pickled beets, as well as some dishes to use as gifts to go along with the jams, and serviettes, as well as a wonderful cherry tart, and a nice cold peach drink.
