Favorite thing: Nature created a beauty of Falls, and human enhanced it with illuminating lights at night that make you feel like you are in a fairy tale.
The first large scale attempt to illuminate the Falls at night was in 1860 using what were known as Bengal Lights (before electricity). The Falls were first illuminated to honour the visit of the Prince for Wales.
In 1925 twenty four great carbon arc lamps were turned on producing 1,320,000,000 candlepower.
Currently a total of 21 Xenon lights are used to illuminate the Falls. In 1998, 18 of these new lights replaced older lamps and fixtures at the Illumination tower, doubling the intensity of the lights on the Falls without doubling the hydro bills. Each Xenon spotlight illuminating the Falls at night has a brilliance of 250,000,000 candlepower.

Favorite thing: Obviously the Falls were the most attractive thing about this location and it was the Falls that we went to see.
We stayed at the Sheraton Falls View Hotel, and my did it have some views (as you can see from my photos).
Here is a link to their web site.

This is a very commercialised place but never the less, very friendly and clean. Anyone in the Toronto area, i would recommend hiring a car and driving up there for at least one night.
Niagara on the Lake is also worth a visit as is the
Fondest memory: One of my fondest memories is going on the Maid of the Mist boat tour. Very worthwhile.
Also, the walk below the falls is pritty cool.
We took a trip to Niagara on the Lake which again i would recommend. This is a lovely little quaint village - check out the Christmas shop. It is also a lovely drive following the "wine" trail. Here is the link for more info http://www.infoniagara.com/attractions/notl/index.html
We took the little bus (paid for the day - you get a little sticker!!)up to the The Whirlpool Aero Car. We decided not to go on it and you get lovely views from the platform without the expense of boarding the car.
We also tool the little bus to the White Water Walk which again I would highly recommend doing. On a lovely day, it is pritty breathtaking. Here is the link to the official page.
