Wine tasting and touring vineyards is a popular pastime in Southern Ontario. The largest viticultural area in Canada, where there is about 75% of Canada’s grape growing volume, is the Niagara Peninsula.
Discover some of the most incredible wines stroll through grape vineyards. The wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake range from small family owned operations to large state-of-the-art facilities:

On the way to Niagara on the Lake, where all the wineries are, look out for this tiny church on the side of the road. Its a great photo op and probably the smallest church in existence (or close to it).

If you come across this winery on your explorations, by all means stop in.
They are very happy to assist you in choosing a bottle to take home.
If you've never had Ice Wine, you are missing a real treat.

In addition to visiting Niagara-on-the-Lake, be sure to visit the many wineries in the area. Sample the wines, take a tour and be sure to buy a bottle or two for yourself! They're all beautiful, though, even if you don't purchase anything to take home!

This winery has great VQA wine. You can take a self guided tour of the winery, and then stop back in the boutique to sample some of their fabulous wines at the wine bar. The boutique also sells bottles of wine. Make sure to taste their ice wine. I think it ranges from $3 - $5 per tasting, but it is well worth it. Some of the best I've had. Bottles of the Ice wine range from $50 - $300 dollars, but can be purchased much cheaper at the Duty Free shop.

This is Ontario's wine region and there are many vineyards outside of Niagara Falls which you can visit and sample the product. Especially nice on a warm sunny afternoon!
