View from Rainbow Bridge by kazander Comfy walking shoes, the parking lots are a good ways away from where you want to go. You may also want to bring a jacket or sweatshirt even in the warmer months, the evenings get chilly.
Along with our regular line up of cameras, we brought along a little waterproof camera to take on the Maid of the Mist and the Journey Behind the Falls Leave a Comment

Chill busters and polar paws :-) by sim1 Brrrr, the winter is cold in Ontario, so dress warm for it. Be prepare for cold, and when you get a a bit more to the north of the Province, also a lot of snow. Hahahaha, I loved seeing these socks in a store though: "Chill busters" and "Polar Paws", I thought they were such fun names ;-))) But they are good to have! When you go on a hike in the winter remember to dress well. Dress warmly, best by using several layers, but don't overdress!!! If you start sweating in your clothing that only means you will start freezing of the cold later. The moist will cool of and make you freeze. The best thing to do is to wear good breathing materials, and you'll be happy outside, whatever the thermometer might say the temperature is :-)) Leave a Comment

icy railing by sim1 Average Temperatures (in Fahrenheit): January - March max 37 min 16 April - June max 73 min 34 July - September max 79 min 52 October - December max 55 min 21 The coldest months in Niagara Falls are November through March. Count on lots of snowfall during the winter. And believe me: it is cold! The moisture that evaporates from the lakes creates a special climate around Niagara Falls. Do count on more cloud cover in the summer because of that. In June, July and August the temperatures are high, but don't be fooled by that. The spray and mist that surround the falls create a very special micro-climate. It feels much colder in this moist air and there is a big chance of getting wet of the spray when getting closer to the falls. So be prepared and bring a rain jacket and if you want to get really close to the falls, a change of dry clothing might not be a bad idea either. Leave a Comment

sneakers, sun glasses, maybe a slicker if you plan on getting really close, and cool clothes- especially in august- maybe even a hand fan
Lots of film- there's a lot to take pics of- I was there about 36 hrs and used at least two rolls of film.
SUNSCREEN! It's so cool by the water- you don't realize how hot the sun is. Leave a Comment

by kimberbakos Be sure to bring extra clothes and shoes to change into after the Journey Behind the Falls and the Maid of the Mist ride. We were soaked through and had to go to dinner wet and I was chilled to the bone. You may also need to change after a visit to Marineland - the whale show will give you a good soaking!
You will probably want to buy a disposable waterproof camera (or two) for pictures when there is alot of spray from the Falls. I was really worried that our camera was going to be ruined from being so wet. Leave a Comment

We just took regular suitcases toNiagara Falls
Dress for the weather and take good walking shoes. Some of the streets are pretty steep and in one place there was no sidewalk and the walking was rough.
A GOOD MAP!! Leave a Comment

Usually we observe the weather report when deciding which garments to don. Over and above the weather, we must also allow for the spray of the fall. In other words, certain areas have "rain" 24 houirs/day 7 days/week. You become wet just from standing near the falls! Leave a Comment
