For a Canadian-style restaurant, try the Moffat Inn at Niagara-on-the-Lake: good beer and unpretentious dining in nice surroundings. You can sit in one of the bay windows and look out at 'one of Canada's prettiest streets'. Well, that's what they say. Since old Cliffie hasn't seen all the others, he'll just have to take their word for it. But he will confess that Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada's first capital, does have a peaceful, soothing calm. Perhaps it's the stillness of the lake after all that cascading thunder at the Falls.
