Every Friday and Sunday evening at 10pm we light amazing fireworks over The Falls. You can get a great vantage point from just about anywhere you can see the sky. I belive the best point to view this beautiful wonder is from your table at The Keg Embassy Suites. Perfection.
When the nightly light show begins and both the Horseshoe and American Falls are illuminated, the entire area is both breathtaking and romantic. The colours constantly change giving a breathtaking performance.
My wife and sat and watched for two hours while eating dinner at the Niagara Park Restaurant, before strolling hand in hand along the river.
The area is illuminated all year round from 5pm in winter until midnight and 9pm in summer until midnight.
Niagara Parks Winter Wonderland. As christmas near through in Nigara Fall the lights are simply beautiful I had went through along side of the Falls and the work that must be done to putting those light up must b a real job. Although it is free to view they are very happy with your donations on the way out the gate which is more than very accaptable for all the work and time put into it. And my pics had not touch on what the lights have to offer. Suggested contribution $5 per car for 2006 that is more than a fair price.
It is definately worth checking out the Falls at night. Both the American and the Canadian falls are lits up with rotating colors. For an extra treat, go see them on a Friday or Sunday night. They hold a fireworks show right over the Canadian side. (Only during the months between May and September)

One of the most spectacular sites I’ve seen is that of the falls illuminated and colored at night. As night falls, colored lights shine on the water with the colors constantly changing, giving it an otherworld look. This goes on till quite late and people walk the paths till midnight and beyond. Below is a schedule of the times for the lights
January... .... 7:00 PM-9:30 PM
February .. ....7:00 PM-9:30 PM
March ...........7:00 PM-10:00 PM
April ...... .......8:30 PM-11:00 PM
May ......... .....9:00 PM-midnight
June .......... ...9:00 PM-midnight
July ........... ....9:00 PM-midnight
August ..........9:00 PM-midnight
September . .8:00 PM-12:30 AM
October ........ 7:00 PM-Midnight
November ... .6:30 PM- Midnight
December .... 5:00 PM-1:00 AM
The one time when the American Falls are more impressive than the Horseshoe Falls is at night. Although both Falls are illuminated by colorful spotlights from the Canadian shore, all the mist obscures the Horseshoe Falls. The American Falls, however, are quite impressive all lit up like that. Bring your tripod if you want to get a good picture though, because you'll need a slow shutter speed to get a good exposure.
If you walk to the falls at night they are illuminated all different colours for a certain length of time, they look just stunning!
We wandered up looking at them in awe in all their different colours....when we got there they turned them white again!!
Visiting Niagara Falls or Niagara Region in particular is a one whole day and night of enjoying this wonder of nature. I recommend that when you come visit us, you have booked to stay for a night or two in one of the world class hotels or better still in any bed and breakfast accommodation which is close to the falls and to the many attractions. The reason behind is that the atmosphere in this amazing wonder is so romantic that even celebrities would come to experience this breathtaking night light show at Niagara Falls.
Come and see the Winter Festival of Lights and enjoy Canada's largest lights festival at the world's most famous address - Niagara Falls - as we illuminate the nights. Lights on daily from 5pm until 12am. For a complete 25th Annual Winter Festival of lights schedule, please access the following linkpage:

The amazing picture of the Falls I have posted was taken during the festival. Don't miss it!
Don't mistake this for an UFO, although you might think of that as soon as you spot it. Hahaha, this is another 'festival of light' at Niagara, but one you can observe whole year long. These are the beams of light that light up the two waterfalls at Niagara in every colour imaginable.
Here is an indication of the times that you can see the falls illuminated:
Winter: 5:00pm / 6:30pm until 10:00pm or midnight
Fall / Spring: 7:00pm until 10:00pm or midnight
Summer: 9:00pm until Midnight
This is a rough indication. For the exact times you can take a look at this website: http://www.skylon.com/general/tower.html
After dinner our group visited the control tower for the coloured light show on the falls. It was a good laugh and the management let some of our group mix the colours , someone got close to a rainbow.
