Rainbow over the Rainbow Bridge by kazander Our first view of the Falls was from the Rainbow Bridge as we crossed from New York State in the United States into Ontario, Canada. It was really pretty impressive scenery! The bridge toll is $2.50 US and totally worth it for the view! Leave a Comment

Bus station by kokoryko Use the greyhound from Toronto to Niagara falls. If there is good weather, enjoy the sceneries along the road; I discovered there were wine orchards in Ontario! We never stop learning. In Niagara falss, take another bus to reach the falls. Theme: BusWebsite: Greyhound

If you are able to fly. I would suggest flying into Buffalo International Airport. It's much smaller and you can get out of the airport quicker then Toronto International Airport. It's about a 40 minute drive to get through to Niagara Falls, Canada, from Buffalo airport. If you are flying into Toronto, Canada, the drive to Niagara Falls is about one hour. The Niagara Parks People Mover system is great, buy a day pass and you can hop on and hop off the buses all day stopping at all the tourist attractions. The drivers were really friendly and helpful and gave us some great information on the attractions your day pass also includes the Incline Railway, really useful if you staying at one of the falls view hotels and cant face a trek up the hill after a long days sightseeing day passes cost $7.50 for adults, $4.50 for children 12-5 and under 5s are free the People Mover does not operate during the winter months, and the times of the last bus vary during the year, check the website for details Leave a Comment

South Ontario by sim1 Planning a trip, but don't know how far it is? This website can help you out : http://www.gov.on.ca/MBS/english/distance/index.html 60 cities in Ontario are listed on this website and you can calculate the distance between the two places. From Toronto to Tobermory for example is 300km (186 miles). The calculated distances are based on each location’s city hall and are rounded to the nearest 5 kilometres. Leave a Comment

Road map by sim1 Another website that I like very much is this online roadmap : http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/traveller/map/ With this website you can click on a part of the map of Ontario, and get the roadmap for that area. You can zoom in very good on an area, so it makes the map easy to read. Another option is to go to the index of place-names, and search the map that way. The maps are quite large, so it might take some time to download. Leave a Comment

Coaches at Niagara Falls bus station by SWFC_Fan If you are in Toronto, it would be a shame not to undertake a daytrip to the world famous Niagara Falls, just a short distance south of the city. The Falls are a mere 90 minute coach ride from Toronto. I travelled there on a coach operated by Coach Canada and the following information was correct as of February 2006: Coaches leave for Niagara Falls from Bay Street coach terminal in downtown Toronto. At the time of my visit, there were 21 coaches each day between Toronto and Niagara Falls, the first one leaving at 06:45 and the last one leaving at 23:00. You can find a full timetable on the Coach Canada website. Be aware that there are 3 bus stops at Niagara Falls. These are: "Niagara Falls", "Casino Niagara" and "Fallsview Casino". The Niagara Falls stop is the bus station in the town of Niagara Falls and is some distance from the Falls themselves. If you catch a coach to this stop, as I did, then you will either have to catch a local bus (Cost: 2.25 CAD; journey time 5 minutes) to Clifton Hill or you will have to walk circa 30 minutes to get there. Catching a coach to either of the casino stops will take you right into the heart of the Falls, but I was told that you are not allowed to take any luggage on these coaches. Unless you specify that you want to go to the casinos, you will likely end up on a coach to Niagara Falls bus station. Don't worry....the bus connections from there to the Falls are frequent and cheap. I paid 35.68 CAD for a special offer same day return ticket. If you wish to return on a different day, then your ticket will be more expensive. The special offer same day return tickets can only be purchased on the day that you travel, not in advance. Snowmobiles by sim1 Watch out for the snowmobiles! They have their own trails going through the countryside. But they also share the same road as you do, using the shoulder of the road. So be aware of them! They can go quite fast, and join the roads suddenly as part of their trail. Leave a Comment Theme: Car/Motor Home
