This is the place to go to if you want to see a quality blues band during your stay in Toronto. This is actually since there is not much to choose from as Toronto is not a great blues town. However the Silver Dollar does host some noted acts from time to time. For instance I saw Alvin Youngblood Hart and Mem Shannon here. Other notables roll...

The Heart and Crown was once one of our favourite pubs when in Ottawa but a recent experience has convinced me never to return. After attending my daughter's graduation from University in the afternoon, we all decided to meet at the pub for dinner and a few drinks. Our meals were taking a cry long time and we complained to a young man who turned...

A pleasant Irish-themed pub, quite large actually. Very friendly and prompt staff, good selection of local and international beers (especially Irish). And Irish whisky of course. Food also available, looked good, though we never ordered anything ourselves. There was a live band playing the night we were there. They were Canadian, but they sang...

During Luminato, Roy Thomson Hall is one of the main venues. I saw Not the Messiah, a show based upon Monty Python's Life of Brian. Eric Idle starred; it's worth seeing just for his Boby Dylan imitation. This theatre has something going on all the time. In addition, the same company owns the famed Massey Hall. Jazz fans may remember that this was...

    Kingston Nightlife

This is the main dance club in Kingston. Pretty good if your into that. The dress code is pretty casual. People here keep going back and forth between stages (dance) and AJ's (rock) wich is kinda odd to me, but it's still nice because people are friendly and they don't make a big fuss about style. • City views by night

    Toronto Nightlife

The view of the city is incredible and can be admired from the city's highest outdoor patios on both sides of the building (north and south), with teak deck chairs and small tables for sky-high socializing. If inside is more to your liking, the main room and bar has floor to ceiling windows with a spectacular city view. Panorama is well known for...

Irene's Pub is a great place to listen to live local bands. Live music every night, around $10 to get in is the norm. Relaxed atmosphere, and enjoyed by locals, both the young hipsters and the neighbourhood old timers. Casual dress

  • Alfie's

    Kingston Nightlife

This is the main university bar in Kingston. Thursday nights used to be the big boozefest. A lot of the campus drunks would show up here for the cheap drinks, bad music and easy girls / guys. You need to be a Queen's student to get into this bar (or you need to be signed in by one), so this was the place that all of the prissy Toronto girls could...

Pauper's Pub is located near the University of Toronto hence is full of the student crowd and other locals. Though the food is only average the pub is huge and has a great roof patio with a superb view of the Toronto Skyline. There is also a piano bar on the second floor of the pub. I find the ground floor particularly cozy on a cold night. Casual

This place was a movie theatre until it became 'Aj's Hangar' at the beginning of the 90's. It's a place where you can listen to live local bands. (like Road Appls, a great tribute to the Tragically Hip which is also a local band) Casual

Okay… so I confess I have never actually been INSIDE Club Zanzibar, but it is a Toronto institution! I adore that they have kept the old sign and spruced up the front of the club and it wasn’t always a strip joint. Some very, VERY famous musicians have played here back when it was a live music venue. I am not positive but I think you can EAT...

This is more like a pub where you can loudly announce what you have to say in front of the public. This was a local custom here in Kingston a long time ago when Kingston was the Capital city of Canada. This and many other place in Kingston serves food, drinks and provide live entertainment to the guests. Pubs are very popular in the area since the...

  • CN tower

    Toronto Nightlife

CN Tower has gotten very expensive. If you want a good night view of Toronto, try Panorama at Bloor and Bay. It's in the Manulife center. It gives you view of the downtown area with CN Tower in it. There is no cover charge on weekdays. But the food and service there is both expensive and crappy so just have a drink and take in the view.

  • Kids everywhere!!!

This really isn't about any one place inparticular. But I just wanted to warn the older people (30's and up) that Niagra Falls Canada has a lower drinking age I believe it is 18. So when I was there I was shocked and suprised to see 18 year old kids out partying and drinking at 2am. A lot of them come over from New York to party. But still overall...

  • Have traditional landing champagne!

Part of the traditional process of going on a hot air balloon ride is to have champagne once you've landed. To celebrate a successful landing, I suppose. The trip was faboulous and the champagne topped it off nicely!

  • Nightlife can be boring...

Nightlife can be boring in Ontario, especially if you live in a small village out in the countryside. So the thing to do is to make it nice at home, invite friends or go over to their place for a visit. I always love to make cocktails, hahaha, that sure makes the evenings less boring. So how about a Tequila sunrise? This is a classic drink and fancy...

I'd rather be out camping on a desolate island but if you want some nightlife, head back to Toronto.Loads of great pubs and restaurants. The most multiethnic city in Canada.
