Lions Valley Park was created in 1963 by the Lions Club of Oakville, a local community-minded organisation that exists to this day. Through contributions, the Lions reserved 20 hectares (50 acres) of land for the new nature park, which they then handed over to the Town. To commemorate their achievement, the park was given the name Lions Valley. It quickly became a popular destination for picnics, sports, family outings, and the enjoyment of nature. Today there is a children's park, picnic tables, lawns for picnics or sports, long walking trails, the 16-mile creek for fishing, biking opportunities, etc. Directions: South off Dundas Street West (Highway 5) between Neyagawa Boulevard and Third Line.
