Canadian Tulip Festival is the world's largest tulip festival, involving millions of tulips in Major's Hill Park. It occurs annually during May. The festival originated when Princess Juliana of the Netherlands gave Ottawa 100,000 tulip bulbs in 1945 in appreciation and recognition of Canada's role in helping out the Netherlands during World War II. This year celebrates the 50th anniversary of the festival from May 3 to May 20.
