The Norgoma is an old ship that used to cruise along the Great Lakes. It is now a museum about ships and shipwrecks of the Great Lakes. Lots of interesting reading, plus you can wander all over the ship, from the boiler room to the captain's area. You can even visit the rooms where passengers used to sleep!

Let's admit it: if you're visiting Sault Sainte Marie, it's probably because the city is on the way and you need to make a stop for the night. Well, that's why we were in Sault Sainte Marie and this is why we stopped at the Sault Sainte Marie Museum.
This is a very cheap museum (a few bucks to enter) but it is pretty interesting. It depicts the history of the city. Of course it doesn't have a very glamourous history, but it's still a nice way to kill an hour of your day.

If you have any interest at all in Aviation, make sure you see the Canadian Bush Pilot Museum in town. It has several aircraft and a large amount of historical information

Dock's has 3 areas - a restaurant area with a great view of the river, a second restaurant area with a cozy fireplace and marine-themed decor, and a bar/pool-table area where they have live bands on the weekend. Part of the restaurant turns into a club at night. Great food, reasonably priced. In the summer there is a patio looking out on the water.

Favorite thing: Sitting along St. Mary's River, soaking up the sun and watching the ships go by is a nice relaxing way to spend a sunny Saturday. Bellevue park in the east end of town is a great spot - lots of picnic tables. Or take a walk along the boardwalk downtown.

Favorite thing: The 'Soo Locks' host large ships passing through to Lake Superior. This view is looking West, the USA on the left, Canada on the right.
