If you are in Canada, then hockey is the sport. Thunder Bay is a hockey hotbed. The University has a team that competes every weekend. The city also creates outdoor rinks every winter for the publics use. There are over 30 of them spread out across the city.....bring your skates
Great skiing in Thunder Bay area, probably the best downhill in the whole province can be found at the following areas close to the city: Candy Mountain south on Highway #61 about 15 min drive. Also Lock Lomond Ski area on the way to Candy Mtn. and Mount Baldy on north end of city. Lifts & nightskiing.
If you are a yachtsman you will also find great sailing in the harbour, full service marina and you windsurfer's will like the harbour area as well.
Fisherman take note: a fishing paradise to be found in Northwestern Ont. ft. walleye, trout, salmon, small and large mouth bass.
