Favorite thing:
The CN Tower is the second tallest free-standing structure on land in the world, at 553.33 metres (1,815 ft., 5 inches). It is located in the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and is considered the signature icon of the city . The CN Tower attracts over two million visitors annually.
Construction on the CN Tower started on February 6, 1973 by Canadian National Railway who wanted to build a large TV and radio communication platform to service the Greater Toronto Area and also to demonstrate the strength of Canadian industry.
Fondest memory:
In 1995, the CN Tower was declared one of the modern Seven Wonders of the World by the American Society of Civil Engineers. It also belongs to the World Federation of Great Towers. The following year, the Guinness Book of World Records officially changed the CN Tower's classification to "World's Tallest Building and Free-Standing Structure" and it retains that title to this day.
Favorite thing:
At 342 m (1,122 feet) is the Glass Floor and Outdoor Observation Deck, the Glass Floor is 23.8 square metres (256 square ft.) and can withstand the weight of 4,137 kPa (600 pounds per square inch) or 14 large hippopotami.
Believe me, it's not easy to step on this glass floor when you see a precipice under you!
Fondest memory:
The Glass Floor can withstand a weight of 600lbs per sq inch (109 kg per sq cm) or the equivalent to 14 adult hippopotami.
Favorite thing:
Visit the CN Tower the world's tallest free-standing structure.
There is an observation deck at 335 m and a skypod at 447 m. On a clear day you have a beautiful view to the Toronto Islands and to the skyscrapers of the Financial district.
There are rumours that you can also see the mist of the Niagara Falls, but I haven“t seen it...
Fondest memory:
Take a walk on the glass floor at 335 m. It is an amazing experience ... :-)
Favorite thing:
Take the lift to the CN Tower which is 553 meters high (more than the Eiffel Tower). It is the world longest staircase with 2570 steps.
Fondest memory:
The revolving restaurant is at 350 m. During the time of a meal you make a complete tour. Attractions : 3D cinema, shopping, viewpoint at the Observation Deck at 445 m.
Favorite thing:
This was the highlight of our visit and it did not go as I thought it would, I could not walk the glass floor of the Observation Balcony, however my wife did it easily. Looking around the observation deck it was a raffle to guess who would walk or freeze. It appears age does not play a part.
The night view was fantastic, however we were lucky as our tour director took us up during daylight and we had both views.
Looking down to ground level is something, hang on tight!

Favorite thing: A couple of years ago, my sister discovered a way to experience the CN Tower for less money. As many VTourists have comiserated on this site, there is a fee ($12 I think) to ride the elevator up the CN Tower. People who eat at the 360 Restaurant (it revolves and shows an incredible view), get to ride the elevator for free. Dinner there is really expensive, but lunch is much more reasonable. So, plan on going there for lunch, and you can see the observation decks etc. for free. You'll probably spend as much as you would have on the elevator ride, but you get lunch out of it too.
Favorite thing:
Ride the elevator to the tallest free-standing structure in the world - CN TOWER (553 m / 1815 ft): view the city from the largest revolving restaurant in the world (rotates fully every 72 mins) and you'll be back for more the next year!

Favorite thing:
Go to the top of the 'CN. TOWER' and take pictures as the tower rotates. We stayed for the complete 360 degree tour.
Fondest memory:
The great view of Lake Ontario and the small planes landing below us at the island airport.
Favorite thing:
The CN Tower, the world's tallest free-standing structure, has glass-fronted elevators rising 553m (1815ft) to indoor and outdoor observation decks which afford a 120km (75-mile) panoramic view on a clear day. The twin gold towers of the Royal Plaza make it the most eye-catching of the many avant-garde commercial buildings in the city.
Toronto's latest attraction, SkyDome, at the foot of the CN Tower, is a multi-purpose entertainment complex and sports stadium and was the world's first to have a retractable roof - baseball's World Series has been played here more than once.
Fondest memory:
Having a great meal at the Chinese Resturent at the Metropolitant hotel.
