The prices indicated in stores and restaurants rarely include taxes. The taxes are added on the price when paying. In Ontario there are the federal Goods and Service Tax (GST) and the Provincial Sales Tax (PST).
Taxes - Expect to pay about 15% tax on everything you purchase in Ontario, with very few exceptions. This tax is on top of the sticker price or price tag of all items. 7% of this is our national 'Goods and Service Tax' or GST which can be reimbursed to non-Canadian toursits when you leave. Keep your receipts and ask at your hotel, Canada Customs when you enter the country at the airport or any large department store about getting this money back.
