Nightclubs and bars: Karaoke anyone??
Saturday night this place fills up with a wide array of wanna be soloists... some are absoloutely amazing. The guy who leads the night, Welly, will knock your socks off with his Neil Diamond Barbara Striesand duet of which he'll sing both parts. Not for the homophobic as it happens to be located just north of our wonderful gay district and the boys love to come out and sing a wonderful rendition of Its Raining Men. Not to be missed.

    Nightclubs and bars: laid-back atmosphere
A little dark but still lively, we sat in the covered garden on plush velvety sofas and talked and ate and drank. The ceaser salad was so-so, but the pizza good! You have a choice of toppings and can choose upto three, we had goat's cheese, sun-dried tomato and mushrooms. With a pint of beer it was PERFECT! The pizza was way too much for one sitting and the leftovers tasted even better for lunch with a homemade salad and a glass of Aussie red wine the next day!

    Nightclubs and bars: Blow Up
Newish club.. Went to their Blow-Up night which is every Saturday. Lots of 60's Mod, Brit Pop, Indie, Motown music. Very "scene" atmosphere. Clean. Trendy. A lot of "indie" type musicians will come here after their show, if they're not afraid to get out onto the dance floor.

No dress code, but a lot of people were dressed nice. Trendy fashionista's.

We went there for a private function. I really like the decor; set in the old Distillery district. However I found the drinks to be really expensive and watered down... Martini $12:50 CAN, Beer $8.00 CAD,... The food was good. I really enjoyed their appetizers.

    Nightclubs and bars: Bovine
Rock club, sometimes has bands playing at the front. A lot of rock stars can be seen here when they're in town. Fun club with a fun crowd. Has various bits of trash on the walls/hanging from the ceiling (like a giant ceramic duck). Benches and tables in the back.

    Pretty much anything goes.

Nightclubs and bars: Large club, fun crowd
For a fun night out in Toronto, check out The Devil's Martini! It's a very large club with a great layout for mingling. Most people are very friendly and out to have a good time. It caters to the 25+ crowd -- and the music is not so loud that you can't have a conversation. On Saturday night, get there early or you will have to wait in a long line! Also, watch out for some of the aggressive women attending bachelorette parties. Some may even try to get you to give them articles of your clothing! When I was there, some women attending one such party asked me to give them one of my socks (haha). Great place -- highly recommended!

    Casual, but neat

Entrance to the Green Room - Toronto

The Green Room isn't a dive... It is THE dive of the entire Annex scene. This pub/bar/dank hole is so depressing its front door exits into a parking lot behind Future Bakery and next to the regular stores' dumpsters. If dark and depressing is your thing, come on down to a bar that's a legend among students in both high schools and universities in the city of Toronto. The beer and bar food are both cheap and, despite the ample room, the bar is packed most weekends. The music is usually rock, although the era will change, and the bar staff are either surly or diffident. Later on into the night (say after 10) however, the blues can easily be shaken simply by the boisterous crowds of 20 somethings who are anxiously attempting to drown out the belief that their BAs will lead to nothing. If you want to experience Toronto without make up of cheap frills, this is the place to be.

Just be clothed in some manner.

Nightclubs and bars: The Irish pub
The Irish Embassy is a Pub and Grill located in an old bank building built in 1873. The Main area is huge and high and rather noisy at busy nights. Good for drinks and food can be picked from these menus: Brunch, Lunch, Dinner, Bar & Late Night. Big screens so you don't miss any of the ongoing hockey games.

Nightclubs and bars: My favorite pub and piano bar
The piano bar is in the basement if you are up for a fun sing along. Five patios for your pleasure... darts areas..pool tables...four televisions in the party room and in the center of it all is Madigans..the original bar where it all started. Here you'll find a dart area and five more televisions and a cozy area complete with a fireplace. Of course its a winding trip through the house to find this area so come in and get lost!!

Dress code??? I think that they would like you to come dressed..that's all I know.
