    The Power Plant

The Power Plant is an art gallery dedicated to contemporary art located along Toronto's Harbourfront. The building began it's life in 1926 as a plant for heating and refrigeration. In 1980 it was turned into an art gallery when the city of Toronto began to restore this area and turned into Harbourfront. This is an art gallery that is definitely not for everyone. This is because it primarily a gallery dedicated to contemporary art which I know can be very startling for people who do see a lot of it. Personally I think that the Power Plant can be very much a hit or miss sort of place. Many times I have visited and have been quite fascinated. Other times I have entered and asked myself why I bothered. Fortunately it is not very expensive to visit the Power Plant being just $5.00 the last time I dropped by. However if you are not open minded about art or easily offended you should be warned that this is a place that you might want to skip. You will probably walk around with a puzzled look.
The gallery is open from noon to 6pm Tuesday to Sunday.

If you only have time to visit one museum while in Toronto, I'd definately recommend the Science Centre. I've been here several times. It's not like other museums in the sence that you're just walking around looking at things. The Science Centre is mostly hands on, and more engaging than other museums. It's great for children, for that reason, but adults enjoy coming here too.
They have a large IMAX Dome that is always showing interesting shows, but it costs extra to see that. For an adult, admission to the Science Centre PLUS the IMAX Dome is 20 Canadian dollars. For a child it's 14 dollars.
But even without the IMAX theatre, there's still plenty of things to see and do there. And you can get in for free with the Toronto City Pass (see my General Tips.)

The Ontario Science Centre is open daily from 10:00am - 5:00pm. The're located on 770 Don Mills Road, at the corner of Eglington avenue East in Toronto.

    ROM

This is Canada's largest museum, and features all kinds of interesting exhibitions and objects not only from Canada, but from around the world as well. I came here last year on a school field trip and they showed us the Egyptian exhibition - the mummy tombs, and the corpse of a woman who had died 5 million years ago. It was really interesting. We went and looked at some of the old Greek potery too. that was about all I saw, but the ROM has all kinds of other things as well.
The museum opens at 10:00am every morning. Adults get in for $10.00 and children for $6.00.
It's located on 100 Queen's Park, right next to the University of Toronto. It's only about a 10 minute walk from the Bata Shoe Museum too.

This is in Klienberg so you will need to drive to get there. This is where the group of seven are people! So if you are an art enthusiast, or you want some real 'Canadian' experience, then here you go.
