    A side trip to The Falls is a must. The Canadian side offers by far the best view, as well as many "touristy" things to do. (Casino, shops, restaurants, Ripleys Believe it or Not museum,...) American side is dingy and unsafe.

  • I can only suggest to the visitors of Niagara falls to forget a little bit the traditionnal Maid of the Mist seen on so many movies. Take the whirpooljetboat at Niagara on The Lake on the Canadian side of the river ! you go up the Niagara river rapids. Choose a sunny day and un uncovered boat. Your boat is so powerful that it allows the pilot to attack the rapids. you get tons of water on u but what's reallay important you never feel scary. The trip brings you between the american & canadian power plants. The stream is simply fabulous. You'll be so wet but it's really funny ! i give a gold medal to this attraction off the beatn paths

    I did a whole other section on my Niagara Falls pages so you can check those out. If you are in Toronto then Niagara Falls is a place you cant miss. Its not too far from Toronto and there are tour buses going to Niagara Falls every day. We rented a car to get there and it was a pretty easy drive. I think it took us like 45 minutes to get there. We stayed there all day and saw just about evrything. Then we drove to Niagara on the lake. This is another little town that you shouldnt miss.

  • I would put Niagara Falls into this category. I would also mention the zoo because it's fair old journey by public transport.
