On our first day in Toronto we found this place. It was close to the hotel we were staying at, The Westin Harbour Castle. We walked there and it was totally worth it. The menu was alittle expensive but we were so hungry that we didnt care. Just about. We had the filet mignon, garlic mashed potatoes and some veggies. The food was excellent and the service was suberb. I also had an appletini that was very good although, quite expensive. It was $20 and change Canadian. I only had one. We didnt have reservations so we ate at the bar. The whole place was very classy and frankly I felt alittle underdressed. I came in in jeans and sandals because we didnt plan to come here. This tiny Italian restaurant is right in the heart of the theatre district and is a great place to go for dinner or lunch before or after a show. Though I would say make a reservation during the bust hours, there are not many tables so I imagine they fill up quickly. This is a great neighbourhood for downtown nightlife, and a good place to fill up before partying the night away. The booths along the back wall are my favourite because you can actually read the graffiti wall and the mirror is handy for checking the teeth for pesto and spinach! Kit Kat is NOT a new restaurant so on a bright sunny day all the kitchy knick knacks look a little dusty, but the food is worth it.
The warm scallop salad was AMAZING, served with organic greens with a cilantro pesto. We also had the grilled calamari to start and it was perfect and obviously fresh not frozen!! The food really was great this afternoon and the service was fine. Having visited the LeCommensals in Quebec, I was happy to find one in Toronto too. Lots of great dishes, you just take what you want, and then they weigh your plate as you leave. Many selections. Also, a great dessert table with several vegan choices. This is a great dining space whether you are a vegetarian or not...the food is great. They carry nice organic wines, beer and juice drinks.
I like the different curry dishes and the hot casserole dishes. A nice place to have a lunch with a friend. Clean, quiet, pleasant space. Little Italy is a strip of Italian restaurants on College St. West just past Bathurst, the neighborhood now days is pretty ethnically still with a fair proportion of Italians. Best calamari, sparkling nightlife and romantic atmosphere can be found. I am not recommending a specific restaurant you will just have twalk a bit and pick out one of the many that looks good.

This is a small restaurant, hidden away, but really nice. I have only been there for lunch and really enjoyed myself.
I have not been frequently enough to have deduced a favorite dish. My most recent visit, I had the Basil Beef, one of the lunch specials. For $6 CAN before tax, I had a tasty meal and happy to have visited. It's very hard to put into words when you have possibly one of the best steaks of your life. Up to the time of my visit to Morton's, Queue de Cheval in Montreal and Le Charbon in Montreal where by far the best steakhouses I had ever tried and then there was Morton's. The restaurant in Toronto is right across the street from the Four Seasons hotel so it was a short walk. In any event the service here is great. There is a bar downstairs on the main floor where they make great Martini's and they serve little steak sandwiches to keep your stomach from growling. The eating area is great and for private functions you can get what they call the boardroom. This is where I ate at my visit and they treat you really good there. It's quieter as well and condusive to a business type of dinner.
THE FOOD! I ate a lobster appetizer, the Cajun Ribeye Steak was was melted in my mouth and for dessert I had a chocolate mouse cake with raspberries. I can't beleive I ate the cake after the steak and trimmings, but I did, LOL. Coleslaw, fried plantain, jerk chicken & rice by sagamigal, 1 more photos This is primarily a take-out joint with only a small table and chairs to wait for you food. It's a low-frills, basic place but the jerk chicken, jerk pork and other Jamaican dishes are delicious! The jerk seasoning is not too salty and not too sweet so you get to taste the deep flavours of clove and nutmeg. For a small charge, Mr. Jerk will add some slives of juicy (not greasy) fried plantain. Don't forget to ask for extra gravy for you rice & peas!

Anyone who looks through my tips will start to notice that I don’t do very many restaurant reviews. This is because I often eat at fast food restaurants and so there’s little point in reviewing a restaurant whose clone exists in thousands of other cities. I’ve made an exception for Pizza Pizza because, although it’s a fast food outlet, they don’t seem to be widespread outside of Ontario. They do have stores all over the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Their main business is pickup and delivery of complete pizzas but they also offer pizza by the slice. In recent years have expanded the variety of pizzas on offer so everyone should be able to find something to their liking. It’s good quality at a good price and they also have Chicken Chicken.

Red Lobster isn't the most exclusive restaurant chain - see can't be exclusive if you are a chain restaurant - however they do serve decent food at a reasonable price, and make it a place that is great for families, or friends. You can go to a more expensive seafood/fish restaurant, pay big bucks, and not be guaranteed a better meal, or have as much fun. It was because I have never had a bad meal at Red Lobster, I knew it was popular with at least one other member of our group, and it was easy walking distance from their hotel, that I picked it for dinner... oh, and it was within my budget.
Almost everyone loves the garlic cheese teabiscuits that they bring out at first. The worst part is not filling up on them! We were there during their Endless Shrimp special - and so all but one of us had that. Great price deal ($17.99) - soup/salad to begin with, and most of us had the ceasar salad - then they brought you your choice of 2 shrimp dishes, with as many more as you'd like after. It was a great dinner. I think we were all happy. 4 of us split a carafe of white house wine ($24.99) - from Niagara, I believe - and that gave us all 2 glasses so at $6.25 per person, that was ok.
