See all Toronto Restaurants | | Toronto Hot dog vendors Reviews | 1 - 8 of 8 | | If the weather is warm, there are many vendors selling sausage sandwiches out of trucks in the downtown area. On Wellington Street in the business district, I found one that looked extremely clean. Luckily, I stopped at a time that was not so busy -- and I had a chance to chat with the owner. He is a real connoisseur of sausages! He offers a choice of Italian (a little spicy), German (bratwurst), and Polish (kielbasa). I had the Italian sausage which was cooked to perfection and served on a delicious hoagie roll. This sausage sandwich was vastly superior to the dirty water hot dogs that are standard in New York City.
High quality sausages, high quality bread, a good assortment of toppings, and a clean environment. Theme: Street VendorPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveAddress: Wellington Street in Financial DistrictDirections: Financial District

Hungry but you don't want to go to a restaurant..... Take a hotdog! There are lots of hotdog stands in downtown Toronto. And when you go to a baseball game of course you have to have one as well. So here I am sitting and enjoying this yummy hotdog before the game starts. Leave a Comment Theme: Autogrill/Rest Stop

Cheap and readily accessible during the spring, summer and fall seasons.
All beef hot dogs. Sometimes the veggie dogs are good, but it is a hit and miss. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: All around Toronto's downtown core - Bloor + College + Queen street typically.

There must be some kind of drug or something in Toronto hotdogs, sausages, or what we like to call street meat. I don't recommend making a regular diet out of this, BUT, occasionally won't kill ya, specially after a pint or two, or three. Everytime I have one of these sinful badboys, all my guilt is taken away after the first bite. Toronto street meat is probably one of my biggest cravings that I must give into every little while, they have veggie dogs, chicken dogs, hotdogs, but what you should really eat are the sausages!! Polish, spicy, German, whatever floats your boat, just eat it with relish, saurkraut or whatever takes your fancy. Enjoy, feast!! It's the best food in town. Oh, and since there's a law banning the sale of cheese in a squeeze bottle, sometimes, if you're smooth talking the vendor, see if he can slip you a bottle, some of them just hide the squeezy cheese underneath the counter, hehe, wink wink, nudge nudge.
I like the Polish sausages the best..... Well, during the summer, they're everywhere, but during the winter, Union station is a definite sure place to find them.

Street meat as Torontonians call it, is cheap, and just good. It is your choice of hot dog or sausage, made to order, perfect for after a long night of drinking at our clubs, they are flanked on every corner. It looks sketchy, but it's actually really good!! Hot dogs from street vendors are tastey, quick and usually cost about $2-3! They're all over downtown, BBQ-ing away during every season. You have to try one!
