  • Timmy's is kind of like the Canadian version of Dunkin Donuts, but even better ;)

Tim Horton's: Canada's Coffee and Donut chain
  • Satisfaction:
  • Tim Horton's is Canada's coffee shop chain serving rich coffee, tasty donuts, and sandwiches. Who is Tim Horton you ask? Tim Horton was a hockey legend who played most of his career for the Toronto Maple Leafs. The original Tim Horton's Donut Shop was opened in 1964 in Hamilton, Ontario (and apparently is still open).

The basic cup of coffee and a plain donut does it for me. I pretty much started my days in the cold Toronto air with a donut and cup of Tim's delicious coffee.

    Tim Horton's: SIMPLY THE BEST!!
  • Satisfaction:
  • It's simply the best and not even Starbucks is an equivalent...the smell, the coffee, the bagels, the cream cheese, the donuts....mhm.....I am melting. When it comes to remembering a country by its smell, for Canada Tim Horton's would certainly go!!!

    Bagels with cream cheese.

Tim Horton's: You can't go wrong
  • Satisfaction:
  • Plain and simple---I love this place! We finally got it here in the US about 7 years ago (if that) but it's nice to know that there is still one on every corner in Canada!!! I love their food, they're nice and inexpensive yet healthier than most "fast food" chains and it's quick. Any time I travel, I find myself spending more money on food than anything else. This time we made a food budget and the fact that we can get breakfast OR lunch here, or even just a snack, helped us to stay within that budget.

The coffee is to die for--I especially love their french vanilla cappuccino. The sourdough TimBits donut holes are my favorite treat, I love the egg salad sandwich (and Christy fell head over heels for the chicken salad sandwich) and you can't pass up the opportunity to try the new chocolate danish!!!!

Tim Horton's: The most Canadian coffeeshop ever
  • Satisfaction:
  • Tim Horton's is so typically Canadian that you have to go there if you're from outside Canada. There's at least one in pretty much every part of the city (sometimes even in gas stations!), and it's cheap. Aside from coffee and donuts, you can also get timbits (donut holes), sandwiches, soup, hot smoothies, etc. If you're having a party or get-together, it's very Canadian to pick up a box of timbits for your shindig. Whether you want a meal or a snack, eat in or on the go, Tim Horton's a good place for food if you don't have much money.

Coffee, of course! And in summer, ice cappucino is a great cold drink. I also like most of the donuts and sandwiches.

Tim Horton's: Always time for ...
  • Satisfaction:
  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE Tim Horton's! Tim Horton's is fantastic for an inexpensive but filling meal, or for their famous cups of coffee. They have all kinds of donuts, cakes, sandwiches, bagels, muffins, soups, etc. and usually have new things coming out during special times of the year. One small warning -- they don't take debit!

Love the French Vanilla Cappuccino ... also their new hot smoothies are great (especially hazelnut!). For food I usually go for a nice bagel with herb & garlic cream cheese, or any of their soups and sandwiches -- they're all good.

Tim Horton's: Great for Budget Travel
  • Satisfaction:
  • I'm not a coffee drinker and I try to keep away from donuts, but I do recommend Tim Horton's (or Tim's, as it's known to the thousands of Canadian's who go there every single day). Sandwiches and soups are healthy food choices that can be had for less than $6. Locations are just about everywhere. A local can point you in the location of the nearest one if you're having trouble.

I usually get ham and swiss cheese on a whole wheat bun. Everything is made to order so the ingredients and the bread are fresh.

  • Directions: Tim Horton's is a large chain located all over Canada. You'll find them along the highways in roadstops, and sprinkled around urban and suburban business areas. They are affiliated with Wendy's - and both restaurants are often housed side-by-side.

    Tim Horton's: Great Coffee
  • Satisfaction:
  • Named after a Canadian hockey player, Timmy's is the most common and trusted coffee shop in TO. You won't find a selection of specialty hot drinks, just plain good regular coffee.

Toasted bagels with cheese. Medium double-double coffee.

    Tim Horton's: Classic Canadian
  • Satisfaction:
  • Timmy's is the closest that there is in Toronto to real "Canadiana". This donut chain is found in almost every Canadian city and town and will always be the favorite! The lunch type menu items are surprisingly good (better than McDonalds) and the donuts are great. Personally the coffee is not that good, but many people would probably call me unCanadian for saying that!

Ice Cap!! The best summer treat!! Better than Frappuccinos and half the price.
